Pitesti is known by its flowers. It is named "the city of the tulips" Each spring a great tulip festival takes place here. Tulips are everywhere in the city. The pictures from Pitesti were taken in may2005

I know Romania can offer you very beautiful landscapes and i think you've noticed. I will try to show you some photos from Romanian cities. This way you will have a better understanding on Romania. The first city i will present to you is PITESTI. Pitesti is situated 100Km east from Bucharest(the main city in Romania). Pitesti is a city which made big progress in the past few years..more in the next posts

Today: other photos from the Black Sea. This was an weekwnd journey in VamaVeche. Vama Veche is not a resort, is more like a village where everybody is free to do (almost) evrything. This is the place where young people come to fell the "freedom". Here you won't see any hotels, any luxury stuff. There are more than ten resorts on the romanian Black Sea Coast but i will show you images from them with other ocasion.

Today I will recomand you a site about Romania, a site where you can find many quality photos and stories about travelling in Romania.
I heard about SpiritRo few minutes ago and I'm impressed. I'm really happy that there are people concered about Romania's tourism. In the next few days I will try to have a better ook over it and to become a member of this site.
I think I like it. On the first look I see lots of good photos :)

Vama Veche - We'll start with a sunrise :)

In Romania you can find all kinds of relief.. Here you see the natural variety: from mountains to plains, from hills to The Black Sea and, of course, The Danube Delta. For the moment we don't have photos from the Delta but we can offer you some from the Black Sea

Apuseni Mountains - Another point of interest in Apuseni Mountains is the Chicken Mountain. Every august young girls and young boys come here to get know each other in order to get married. This is an old regional custom

The name of the second cave is "Pestera Ursilor" or "Bears' Cave" because many bear skeletons were found here. We don't have pictures from this one because we weren't allowed to take pictures(maybe with another occasion). Believe me it's worth visiting this one also.

Apuseni Mountains - Small part of the glacier !

Apuseni Mountains - There are many caves in Apuseni Mountains. We have visited only two of them, the most beautiful ones. The first one is the "Scarisoara" Cave. It is situated in the center of the mountains and it is well known by its glacier. You may arrive here by foot (a very pleasened journey - almost 1h) or by car but you will need a 4X4 car because the road is not paved.

Apuseni Mountains - In my opinion, Apuseni region is one of the most beautiful regions. The scenaries are special offering you all the peace you need after a hard working year. They are filled with silence and beauty. The people here are very kind and friendly here though they don't talk much (maby they are shy) and they offer you rooms for rent with only 5euros/night/person
